Round Aluminum Strut Brace for Volkswagen Golf II
The aluminum strut brace eliminates front camber changes with hard cornering. During hard cornering the inner fender wall will flex inward. This results in an unpredictable camber change. Once the front strut brace is installed the camber settings will no longer change. As a result, it will give you a more direct and predictable steering response. The preset front camber gives the Golf II excellent cornering abilities. You can enhance your driving skills if you learn the left foot driving technique. Read Rally Books written by Stig Blomquist who won many rallies with a front wheel drive car utilizing the left foot braking technique.
It is best to install the brace by jacking up the Golf II slightly. Jack it up underneath the engine support bar, but leave the tires touching the ground. Undo the bolts which are holding the front struts on both sides and install the strut brace. Then lower the car, tighten the bolts and check the toe in. By increasing the front tire pressure by 2 lbs above the factory's recommendations you increase your cornering speed. Retighten the strut nuts after a test drive.
Recommended Maintenance:- To keep your strut brace beautiful we recommend you use 00 steel wool. You can buy this at most hardware stores. It is very cheap and works well.
