Installation Note:

• In some cases you may need to re-drill the holes - or at least the end holes to 11/32. You can do it yourself, but you will need to get a cobalt or carbide drill bit and cutting oil.

Benefits:

The Raceland Stainless Exhaust Header for the BMW E36 fits the M3 and Z3 3.0L and 3.2L engines. These headers are made from the highest grade Stainless Steel T-304 and mandrel bent for peak performance. Mandrel bent means the tubing is laid inside the metal mold before it is shaped to its size of the bent. With mandrel bending there is hardly any distortion. Normally, when a tube is bent, it becomes smaller in the bent area. With mandrel bending the inner tube dimension stays the same size to get you maximum flow resulting in more horsepower and torque. The Raceland headers will give you 10 to 14 more horsepower at maximum rpm and a substantial increase in torque resulting in improved throttle response especially at the mid range rpm.

Our headers are direct, bolt-on design, fitted with CNC machined, stainless, flanges which fit directly to your cylinder head, easy to install. At the end of the header system is an open pipe that slides into or can be welded to the present exhaust system. This connection may require some fabrication; this depends on your present exhaust system. One additional note, right hand drive models may require modification at the steering column.

The flow system is 6-2-1. There are 2 lambda sound or also called O2 sensor locations. Please note installation instructions are not included. We highly recommend you have the headers installed at a muffler repair shop.

Recommended Maintenance:

We recommend retightening the nuts that hold the header to the cylinder head 1 week after installation. Header studs and nuts are not included.

It is best to clean the headers with 00 size steel wool on a monthly basis. This steel wool is available from any hardware store.
